PASS THROUGH BY THE NUMBERS
What is “Pass Through?”
- When a family is receiving cash public assistance, up to $200 of the collected child support payment goes to the family and the rest goes to the government
- Starting in 2024, California law changed so that if a family is no longer on cash aid but still has child support debt from when they were, all the money collected is now “passed through” to the family
